BUDDHA PARK

Built in 2006 to commemorate the 2550th birth anniversary of Gautam Buddha, Buddha Park is a significant part of Sikkim's pilgrimage tourism circuit. The park boasts a majestic 130 ft high statue of Gautam Buddha, gracefully set amidst a well-maintained garden. Here, you can relish views of the Himalayas, seemingly floating in the clouds. The tranquil Cho Djo Lake further enhances the natural beauty of the park.

Despite being an artificial tourist spot, Buddha Park emanates a spiritual ambiance that harmoniously blends with the serene surroundings. Spend time in this meditative space, breathing in the cool mountain air while embracing a sense of tranquillity. The park also houses a meditation hall, a museum, and a Buddhist conclave.

BON MONASTERY

Located in Kewzing, a short distance from Ravangla, the Bon Monastery, also known as Bon Yung Dung Monastery, is one of the two monasteries in India belonging to the Bon sect of Buddhism. Founded by Yung Dung Tsultrim in 1980, it is an institute for learning Bon teachings, with provisions for less privileged students. The monastery showcases an array of Buddhist artifacts, paintings, and Buddha deities and offers insights into the daily routines of the young monks from the Bon sect.

RALANG MONASTERY

Distinctive among Sikkim's monasteries, Ralang Monastery captivates with its unique features. Embodying stark symmetry and brilliant construction, this monastery stands apart from others. Notably, Ralang Monastery can only be accessed via trekking, adding to its allure. Situated 13 km from Ravangla, this monastery symbolizes the luxury of Buddhists and is steeped in legendary tales of its creation.
