Welcome to Sikkim Darjeeling Tourism. By booking any tour package or using our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Kindly read them carefully before confirming your booking.

Mandatory Travel Documents

Sikkim

Guests must carry valid original ID proof during travel. Accepted documents include:

• Voter ID

• Passport

• Driving License

PAN Card and Aadhaar Card are not accepted for Sikkim permits.

For children below 18 years:

• Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate is mandatory

• Four passport-sized photographs of each traveler are required

North East India

Accepted ID proofs:

• Aadhaar Card

• Passport

• Driving License

• Voter ID

PAN Card is not accepted.

Travelers must provide:

• Aadhaar Card copy (front & back)

• Passport-size photograph copy

Bhutan

For Adults (18 years and above):

• Original Voter ID Card or Passport with minimum 6 months validity

For Children (below 18 years):

• Original Birth Certificate in English

Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, and Driving License are not accepted for Bhutan travel.

Payment Policy

Sikkim Tour Packages

• 40% advance payment is required to confirm the booking

• Remaining balance must be paid upon arrival

• Credit card payments may attract an additional 3% processing charge

• Train or flight details must be shared in advance for smooth scheduling

Bhutan Tour Packages

• 40% advance payment is mandatory for booking confirmation

• Remaining amount must be paid before the trip starts at the office or airport

North East Tour Packages

• Credit Cards and Traveler’s Cheques may not be accepted everywhere

• Advance payment is non-refundable in case of cancellations due to COVID-19 or similar emergency situations

• However, the amount may be adjusted for future travel bookings

Transport Policy

Sikkim

• Due to limited parking space in hill stations, guests may need to wait in hotel lobbies during vehicle arrangements

• Vehicles are provided on a point-to-point basis and not on disposal basis

• Nathula sightseeing will be conducted on a shared cab basis

North East

• Air conditioning may not function in hilly regions

• For Tawang sightseeing, local vehicles must be hired separately by guests (approximate cost ₹4500–₹5500, excluding Bumla)

• Jio network connectivity may not be available in Tawang

Bhutan

• Air conditioning usage on hilly roads depends on local regulations and driver discretion

• Vehicle service timing is generally from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

• Transportation is provided only on a point-to-point basis

Hotel Accommodation Policy

Sikkim

• Hotel check-in and check-out timings depend on individual hotel policies

• The company is not responsible for any loss, delay, or additional cost incurred due to hotel regulations

North East

• Hotel rooms are not blocked until booking confirmation is received

• Most hotels in Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh are non-AC properties and may not have lift facilities

Bhutan

• In case the mentioned hotels are unavailable, similar category hotels will be arranged

Itinerary & Package Policy

• The itinerary provided is a suggested travel plan and may be modified depending on road, weather, or operational conditions

• Sikkim Darjeeling Tourism is responsible only for the services included in the confirmed package

• Additional services not included in the package cost will be chargeable separately

• Itinerary changes due to political unrest, natural calamities, permit issues, strikes, or government restrictions are beyond our control

• Any additional cost arising from such situations must be borne by the guest directly

Weather & Health Advisory

North East India

• Guests are advised to carry warm clothing and travel with limited luggage

• Travelers visiting Assam, Meghalaya, or Arunachal Pradesh may be required to provide vaccination certificates or valid RTPCR reports as per prevailing government regulations

Amendment Policy

• Any major changes to confirmed bookings may be treated as cancellations

• Minor amendments can be accommodated subject to availability and applicable communication or service charges

Refund Policy

• Refunds will be processed through the original booking source via account payee cheque or bank transfer within approximately 15 working days

• No refund will be provided for unused accommodation, meals, transport, sightseeing, or any other unused services under any circumstances

Prepone & Postpone Policy

• Any request for postponement or cancellation must be informed in writing at least 7 days before the scheduled departure date

• A postponement fee of ₹3,000 will be applicable

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation requests must be submitted via email or written communication.

Standard Cancellation Charges

• 30 days or more before departure: ₹2000 per person as communication charges

• 21–30 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost

• 11–20 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost

• 10 days or less before departure: 100% cancellation charges applicable

We will always try our best to minimize cancellation charges wherever possible.

Bhutan-Specific Cancellation Policy

• 20–10 days before departure: 20% cancellation charges

• 10–05 days before departure: 50% cancellation charges

Disclaimer

• Unused services including accommodation, meals, transport, and sightseeing are strictly non-refundable

• Room allocation depends on hotel availability at the time of check-in

• No refund or compensation will be provided for dissatisfaction regarding personal preferences or unavoidable travel conditions

• Sikkim Darjeeling Tourism shall not be held responsible for delays, permit failures, government regulations, strikes, roadblocks, weather disruptions, natural calamities, or any circumstances beyond our control
