Day 1 Welcome to Gangtok
Day 1
Welcome to Gangtok - The moment you land at Bagdogra or step off the train at NJP, our driver is there to greet you and take the wheel, leaving you free to watch the plains slowly give way to winding mountain roads and your first glimpse of the hills.
- Arrive in Gangtok and check in to your hotel.
- The evening is yours, stroll the buzzing MG Marg promenade, warm up with a plate of momos and a bowl of thukpa, or simply put your feet up and let the mountain calm settle in.
Day 2 Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
Day 2
Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir - Fuel up with breakfast, then climb into the high Himalayas for one of the trip’s most spectacular days.
- Reach Tsomgo (Changu) Lake at a breathless 12,400 ft, a glacial lake that changes its mood with the seasons, frozen and silver in winter and mirror-still and blue come summer. Legend says the llamas once foretold the future in their shifting colors.
- Carry on to the New Baba Mandir, a revered shrine wrapped in stark, beautiful high-altitude scenery.
- Wind back down to Gangtok as the day fades.
Day 3 Onwards to Darjeeling
Day 3
Onwards to Darjeeling - After a relaxed breakfast, trade Sikkim for the slopes of Darjeeling.
- The drive is half the magic, endless tea gardens rolling down the hillsides, misty valleys, and the foothills opening up around you.
- Roll into the legendary hill station that once charmed the British Raj, still famous for its heritage “Toy Train” and the finest tea in the world.
- Check in, and let the cool air and Kanchenjunga’s silhouette welcome you in.
Day 4 Darjeeling Sunrise & Sights
Day 4
Darjeeling Sunrise & Sights - Rise before the sun for the pilgrimage every traveler makes to Tiger Hill, and watch the first light spill across the Himalayas, turning Kanchenjunga (and, on a clear day, even Everest) molten gold. It’s the kind of morning you don’t forget.
- Stop on the way back at the century-old Ghoom Monastery, the Kanchenjunga View Point, and the much-photographed Batasia Loop.
- Head back for a well-earned breakfast.
- Then dive into Darjeeling’s character with a city tour, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, the moving Tibetan Refugee Centre, Tenzing & Gombu Rock, lush tea estates, and the tranquil Japanese Peace Pagoda.
Day 5 Easing into Kalimpong
Day 5
Easing into Kalimpong - Enjoy breakfast before checking out and setting off for Kalimpong.
- This is the gentle, slower side of the hills, a laid-back town wrapped in flower nurseries, hilltop monasteries, and old-world colonial charm.
- Check in and let the day unfold at its own pace, whether that means exploring the lanes or doing absolutely nothing at all.
Day 6 Discovering Kalimpong
Day 6
Discovering Kalimpong - After breakfast, spend the day uncovering Kalimpong’s quiet treasures:
- Deolo Hill, the town’s highest point, with valley views stretching as far as the eye can see.
- The Science Centre and Hanuman Mandir.
- Durpin Monastery, one of the most beautiful gompas in the region.
- Mangaldham, a striking and serene temple complex.
- Dr. Graham’s Homes, a storied colonial-era school set across the hillside.
- The colorful Golf Garden and Pine View Nursery are home to a remarkable cactus collection.
- Return to your hotel as the evening settles over the hills.
Day 7 Farewell to the Hills
Day 7
Farewell to the Hills - Savor one last mountain breakfast before checking out.
- We’ll transfer you to Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station in good time for your onward journey, and you’ll head home with a camera full of sunrises and the quiet pull of the Himalayas already calling you back.
